Board Position Posting

Do you love the community you live in?

Do you want to help direct the needs of your neighbourhood?

If you answered yes to both of these questions, then considering a position on our very active and energetic Board of Directors for the Riley Park Community Association is a great step towards making a difference in your community.

The RPCA Board of Directors works in partnership with the Vancouver Park Board to develop and deliver programs that reflect the needs and desires of our community. As a member of this volunteer Board, you can help provide the needed leadership, direction and ideas that help shape recreation and community in neighbourhoods surrounding Riley Park.

The only requirement for applicants is that you must be a valid member of the Riley Park Community Centre; this means either a purchased membership or any program enrolment from September 2009 to the present.

To be a valued participant to the Board, you must have community-minded principles, be able to volunteer 4-6 hours per month, have a dedicated and professional approach to responsibilities and commit to serving for a 2-year term. The rewards and experience from an RPCA Board position provide valuable steps towards personal and professional development and can include experience acquisition in the areas of program development, communications, finance and event planning.

Current Board members include a wide variety of ages, with varying backgrounds from professionals to retired adults. More information on the RPCA Board of Directors can be found here.

If you would like to pursue one of these rewarding positions, please download an application form here.

Is there an unveiling date set yet for the geyser? I'm a reporter who is interested in doing a story on this. Thanks.
