Overview

Holborn Properties is working with BC Housing and the City of Vancouver to redevelop the Little Mountain site and to make this one of the most livable and model communities in the city.

The area is an L-shaped, 15.2 acre parcel of land, located between Main and Ontario streets and occupying the property from 33rd to 37th. BC Housing will retain ownership of the site until the Rezoning and Development Permit stages are complete

The original development, built in the early 1950’s, featured 224 social housing units. Holborn will replace these – along with complimentary market housing – and offer first right of refusal for the new non-market housing to the former and relocated residents.

Redevelopment of the older public housing near Queen Elizabeth Park will ensure a better use of this site for Vancouver and encourage a far greater mixed-income neighbourhood, with modern, subsidized housing that is more fully integrated into the larger business and residential community. Holborn envisions this comprehensive development as a model for more developments in the future, with progressive sustainability, eco-density and mixed housing.

With the input of the community, Holborn is studying differing levels of density and height, as these are considerations for the economics and opportunities of the development to succeed. The project will not be fully built out for five to ten years.
